first snow of 2012

A week ago we were wearing flip flops and bathing suits in Southern California.  Today in Portland, Oregon we had our first sprinkling of snow...

 

This is the way the snow comes down,
Upon a winter day,
But soon the golden sun comes out,
And melts it all away.
