I've had numerous folks request a video of the Paper Star Lantern tutorial since still shots and written instructions are not always clear. This is my first video attempt. It took me thirteen minutes to make the video and three hours to figure out how to get it into the blog. (A sad commentary on my technological savvy.) Let me know if you think it's helpful. And enjoy your lanterns!
You did a magnificent job of showing how to make the lanterns. It was perfect and so was the lantern I made with you. Super video with instructions. Thank you. Jeri Atkin

Oh poor you! Blogger drives me nuts on occasions - many occasions!! But you've given us a fabulous lesson in origami here and I'll be giving this a try as soon as I can find some suitable paper. Its a beauiful design.
I'm soooo excited to do this... I'm an art teacher at a "harry potter' camp, and we love all things magical--- I'm planning on having the kids create watercolor paints the first day, painting the paper the second day, and then folding the paper into THESE on the third day, in preparation for the "transfiguration ball" on the last night! :) Thanks for the video, it REALLY helped. And I love your cats in the background--- I have one that sounds JUST LIKE THAT!!!! :)
So glad you can use it for kids! We're Harry Potter fans over here too. (Ryan and I had our first date waiting in line to buy book 5 at midnight...is that embarrassing?) Glad the video was useful. Would love to see pics of your finished products!
(waves from wet and soggy Britain) Hi, just followed the link from How About Orange, have to say how beautiful these are and how kind and generous of you to share instructions, especially the video...which I've bookmarked 'til I find some beautiful paper to use. Cheers m'dears!
sooo beautiful! I did it for little xmast presents for my family, with aromatic candles.. =) thank you so much! sorry for my english 🙈 greetings from Venezuela!
I just finished making my first star lantern *thanks to you!* and I feel so accomplished and proud!! I am going to make some for my daughter's little Waldorf school. Her teachers are going to love these! Thank you for the time you spent making this video--I appreciate it so much! It was wonderful and taught me very quickly how to fold the paper! Thanks again!!
Gorgeous. Thank you. I'm a visual learner so was really stuck with the written instructions and then the video made it all make sense. 🌸🌷🌸 Thank you. Great video. Well done!
