A few days back I posted that I was needle felting the human figures arriving this last week of Advent for our Nativity Scene. Each day a new effigy arrives in Naiya's Advent bags. I'm about one day ahead of completing one figure a night. (whew)
Behold...the three wise kings.
Love, love, love these! Very nicely done!
ReplyDeleteThank you Elisa!
ReplyDeleteThose are really cute. Great idea for the crowns.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful 3 kings!
ReplyDeleteThey are fantastic. I've never tried needle felting but I'm starting to get the urge! I love the way all the colours and parts just sort of 'blend' together. Is it difficult to master?
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma. Of all the crafts I do, I think needle felting is the easiest, most rewarding and most difficult to mess up. Errors are ALWAYS fixable...just needle them some more! I did a tutorial on the Mother Earth doll seen in the banner (and the "popular searches listed to the right) and these guys were basically the same thing only on a smaller scale. When you try it, you will likely (like I was) be shocked at how simple it is. I would add to the tutorial that the longer the fibers used, the easier it is to keep the figures shape before the needling portion begins. You could even start with something really small (and without a wire armature) like a needle felted bee: http://passengersonalittlespaceship.blogspot.com/2011/07/needle-felted-bees-great-beginners.html
ReplyDeleteGive it a try and good luck!
Your Wise Men are wonderful!! I love needle felting too such a wonderful craft. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteThanks April. Happy Christmas to you and yours as well!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful. And I appreciate the pointers you shared in your comment above. I need all the pointers that I can get, as I'm no natural.
ReplyDeleteYuletide blessings...
